Excellent essay Rick! Amazing insights for so early on in the COVID fiasco. There were some as yourself that spoke out in the beginning, but were quickly silenced and cancelled. I wish it was just common sense that was necessary to discern we were being misled, and common sense unfortunately is not that common. The masses have always been led by fear, and tyrants know this. I believe your scientific training helped, and certainly your faith in God. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom."

No doubt the vaccine has flaws and many people have suffered injury and death from it. But statistically insignificant compared to the number of people it saved from dying.

My post did not mention vaccines at all, so where is your "disingenuous" claim coming from? You are raising a classic straw man argument, arguing against something I didn't even say. As to vaccines, what do you know about them in view of the fact that many vaccine experts are in disagreement about the benefits vs risks of these? Flaws? Yes, they have significant flaws and the verdict on them will probably not be out for years, if not decades. The portents are not promising.

Just because you did not use the word does not mean you did not imply and insinuate.

Your last statement in this reply is more intentional disingenuousness. Hard numbers prove definitively, that statement is in error. Considering this being the initial formulation with minor tweaks, incredibly impressive. I am sure you know that viruses can be categorized into three general categories. COVID-19 and all SARS viruses are in the same category as the common cold. Never before, ever, in the history of medicine have we had any success in preventing, lessening symptoms or any other statistically significant dynamic concerning viruses of this category. You are intentionally using anecdotal and Specific cases to make general statements. Statements, which happen to be untrue. This is either ignorance, or dishonest brokerage on your part.

You do know that the first polio vaccine killed 400,000 people, right?

Before vaccines, quarantine, hygiene and masks were our only defenses. Where they were implemented, folks fared far better than places they were not.

The human mistakes were, by and large, made by our previous administration and is Republican state governor sycophants.

Disingenuous? Entire diatribe, that’s all.

Sounds like you were advocating for four or 5 million more deaths in United States to prop up our economy. Bad optics.
